VIPs

For those of you that might have seen my husband or his truck at base camp for the filming of the movie  currently taking place in our sleepy community (or at least heard he was there), I thought I'd fill you in on what he's been up to. Several weeks back a friend contacted him about the fact that a movie production company was looking for a local physician to service the needs of their cast while in town filiming scenes for an upcoming movie. He agreed to be available. Filming has been taking place for a few weeks now, and he had gotten no call. We almost thought maybe they had found someone else. Well, on Monday and then again on Tuesday, he got called to the set to see a few of the actors. Most of them were familiar to him and somewhat famous actors but none were the actor or even this actor. Although, he tells me he did have a brief brush with Ms. Anniston as she was kindly asking about the well being of one of her castmates.

Despite his time with the Hollywood crowd, the biggest VIP he's treating this week may very well be his first born. Jack spiked a fever Tuesday afternoon and was a pitiful sight. A few other symptoms arose and today we got our first dose of antibiotics to treat what looks like strep. Hoping he doesn't share his ailments with anyone else in the house. He seems to be taking it pretty well, especially since it means watching lots of Toy Story and drinking lots of OJ.

75 & 25

Another post about numbers. Jack had his 15-month check-up today. Dr. Schulz said he looks great. He's 75th percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight. So, does this mean he's going to be tall and skinny? He may look a little funny though, since 50 percent of that weight is in his thighs!

He got pretty unhappy around 5:30, just as Wednesday Night Supper was in full blast. He was running a bit of a fever. I brought him on home. I gave him some Motrin and put on his PJs and held him. Within 5 minutes, he was asleep. So, I held him for about an hour. I hate that he wasn't feeling well, but that sure was nice. I put him in the bed about 8. Hopefully, he'll sleep okay. I'm also hoping the fever and fussiness is related to the shot he got today and not him getting sick.

Check Up and Check In

Last Monday was Jack's four month check-up. He weighed in at 14 lbs. 12 oz. and was 24 inches long (tall). Although with his hair give him at least another inch! The doctor says he looks great. He's right around the 50th percentile for both weight and length...which I found a bit surprising. He seems so long. The four shots were definitely his least favorite part of the visit, but he seemed to take it in stride.

The following day Grandmommy Garrett checked in to the guest room to spend a few days with us...who am I kidding? She came to hang out with Jack! Since she was on Spring Break, she spent part of her week with us. It was a great time. Jack spent lots of time cuddling and napping with his Grandmommy. The weather was pretty great. On Wednesday, we went over to Helen to tour Grandmommy around. She had never been to the tiny Alpine village. We enjoyed walking around and spent the majority of our time in the candy shops! Yummy! I also helped her figure out her new video camera and filmed some scenes of Jack in action. She was pleased to have some action to take home with her. It was a great visit and we were so glad to have her. It won't be long before school is out, so I'm sure she'll be back soon!

Jack is continuing to enjoy rice cereal. He has really taken to the whole eating with a spoon. He even opens his mouth for the next bite and grunts or whines when you are not fast enough with the next bite or when it runs out. So, maybe he won't be in the 50th percentile much longer! :)
